- The wonderful Wurts Bros photo shows the damaging effect of replacing the vertical banded brick Parapet with railings on the West & South sides. Sections of the original Parapet remain on the North side and the Bulkhead. Maybe the banded Parapet could be reinstated and the Garden Terraces reclaimed (was covering them by extended apartments done legally?) when the LPC approves the new small pane windows but judging from the application drawing it will not happen. Together with their excellent design at 1001 Jerome Avenue, Sugarman & Berger were the go-to architects for tall CBDs. The Lobby has been badly abused and looks unlikely ever to recover.
