The parapet has taken a haircut at this substantial (and challenging to photograph) Early Deco building. A marble vestibule gives way to an enormous and almost baronial lobby, with tartan terrazzo, faux-wood beams, and an incongruously tiled wall by the elevator banks. The single understated fake fireplace is dwarfed by the vast expanse of a lobby that was likely intended to contain quite a lot of furniture and art: elements regrettably missing in so many Bronx Art Deco lobbies today.
